It’s amazing the difference underpinnings make in the fit of historical garments! Thursday, I made the Laughing Moon Corset Cover. When I tried it on, I nearly cried. Despite my careful measuring, it gapped and didn’t fit well at all!

Then I remembered it was a CORSET cover. So, off came the 21st century foundation garments and on went the 19th century underwear. Miraculously, the darn thing fit perfectly!!

Go figure!

Yes, I did feel a bit like an idiot.

Now to sew the buttons and buttonholes.
